If you don’t like the price, there’s always Craigslist

This is how to write a great website. And when I say ‘great’, I mean one that sells, not one that looks good, or makes you smile and feel proud, or your mum likes.

Brown envelope with words 'pay packet', peanuts spilling out

Know your worth and price yourself accordingly.

A website that will do what it’s designed to do: sell wedding photography.

If you’re a photographer, take note: this is, by far, the best photographer’s website I’ve ever seen.

If you run any other type of business: this is, by far, one of the best websites I’ve seen.

Study it.

Consider how you can use the ideas in your own website and sales copy.

Start with the pricing page, which is absolutely spot on. It gets rid of price buyers and whingers in an instant, and reassures his target audience that – yes – he’s expensive, but that’s good. Because why would you want a shit photographer to document one of the most important days of your life?

And don’t go screaming at me that cheaper photographers can be just as good. I know that. But most people won’t believe it, because if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. That’s the power of pricing.

But looking at this guy’s pricing page tells you enough. It’s spot on.

Then follow his link to the contact page, which is, you’ll note, all about his clients. And not at all about him. As is most of his website.

If you want to learn to write copy like that, my book Business For Superheroes can help you enormously. It’ll set you on the right path and get you thinking about your business in a way that’ll appeal to your ideal customers.

Paperback is here. Kindle is here.

Vicky Fraser is a copywriter, author, and entrepreneur. She really did run away with the circus… but when she’s not swinging from a trapeze, she’s showing other copywriters and small business owners how to work with better clients, make more money, and stop missing bathtimes, first words, and dinners with angry partners. In fact, she wrote the book on it. Get your copy here.

PS This guy’s website isn’t perfect. But it’s very, very good. Do look through it. Then go buy my book, because the photographer guy understands a thing or two that I explain in detail within my pages. Tree-based book here. Electronic one here.
