The profitable stuff you can learn from the most genius café on Kalymnos

Just outside Masouri, on Kalymnos, there is a man who’s found his starving crowd.

It’s absolutely genius.

Do you know where you can find your starving crowd? If not, my book can help. Buy it here.

You see, first thing in the morning before the sun comes around, hordes of climbers trudge up the scrubby hills just behind the town to a climbing area called the Grande Grotte. It’s a popular crag because it’s a huge cave filled with tufa limestone rock formations and stalactites and stalagmites. It’s awesome to look at, incredible to climb, and astonishing to watch people climb.

Most of the routes are beyond us, but it’s still worth going to gaze open-mouthed at the lizard people dancing across the roof.

Climbing is hot, scary, and hard work.

After your session is done, you pack up your stuff and walk out into the 33ºC heat, then trudge back down the hillside with all your gear on your back. It’s about a 20 minute walk, hard downhill, no shade.

Then, at the bottom, just before you get onto the road, is a little Italian ice-cream place.

With the most delicious array of home-made, proper Italian ice-cream I’ve ever tasted.

Right where a swarm of hot, dusty, sweaty, hungry, thirsty climbers emerge from the shimmering heat.

Exactly where, in fact, there’s a starving crowd.

The ice-cream is on the expensive side, but there’s two things to note about that. First, it’s worth it because it really is mouth-wateringly amazing.

Second, he could make his ice-cream more expensive than gold and people would still buy it because he’s placed his parlour perfectly. Exactly where loads of people are desperately wanting fluids, sugar, and shade.

So let me ask you: where’s your starving crowd?

Not sure how to find it? I can help. And the best place to start is Business For Superheroes. You can get your paperback copy here or your Kindle copy here.

Vicky Fraser is a copywriter, author, and entrepreneur. She really did run away with the circus… but when she’s not swinging from a trapeze, she’s showing other copywriters and small business owners how to work with better clients, make more money, and stop missing bathtimes, first words, and dinners with angry partners. In fact, she wrote the book on it. Get your copy here.

PS They do a lemon ice-cream that’s particularly special. It did this to Joe last year. You don’t want to make that face because you’re struggling to find your starving crowd, do you? Course you don’t. So click here to get your copy of my book – paperback or Kindle.
