Today, I would like you to go and watch this video please.
Have some tissues at the ready; I suspect there may be tears. It’s a beautiful tribute to a best friend and fellow adventurer and knight of the air.
But more than that, for me, it was a reminder that this isn’t a dress rehearsal. There are no take-backs. No re-runs. This life is the only one we get, and it’s too fleeting to waste on worrying about things.
You see, I’m a terrible worrier, when I should be an amazing warrior. One little letter separating two states of being that are poles apart.
It’s tough, though, because I think we’re hard-wired to worry. Well, no more. Today is the day I step out of my comfortable skin and into my own adventure. I mean, fully into my own adventure. Not the half-assed way I’ve been journeying so far. (Well, maybe three-quarter-assed – I’ll give myself some credit.)
The thing that holds me back is fear, born out of self-confidence issues. And I think that’s the same for most of us, isn’t it?
What are you afraid of? What’s the worst that could happen if you step outside your comfort zone and do the thing?
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Vicky Fraser is a copywriter, author, and entrepreneur. She really did run away with the circus… but when she’s not swinging from a trapeze, she’s showing other copywriters and small business owners how to work with better clients, make more money, and stop missing bathtimes, first words, and dinners with angry partners. In fact, she wrote the book on it. Get your copy here.
