A beautifully simple idea that’ll sell more dresses…

I’m always on the lookout for great marketing and business ideas, and I found one the other day.

Dresses hung up, yes and maybe signs

Make it easy and delightful for your customers to buy from you.

It’s beautiful in its simplicity, and I’ll show you in a moment.

This idea came from a friend of mine who’s opening a new shop in Ludlow – pretty brave, because bricks and mortar retail ain’t easy. I’ve been helping them out with some PR and marketing and the best thing of all is: they’re willing to actually knuckle down and get stuff done.

That might seem like a small thing, but it isn’t. It’s huge. Most people read lots of articles and books, nod sagely at the good advice… but when it comes to doing the hard and uncomfortable work, they stall.

I get it; it’s scary.

But my friend is going all-out and ovaries deep, and I know she’s going to make her shop a success.

One of the things she’s done is this.

Just a tiny thing… but it’ll nudge some people to buy when otherwise they’d perhaps put off the decision for another day.

I love it. I’ve not seen that in any other dressing rooms in any other shops. Mind you, I rarely go clothes shopping because I find it very stressful.

Which is another thing Eclectica of Ludlow is doing: making the whole thing into a delightful experience that you look forward to.

There’s a massive lesson there for every type of business out there. Not just retail. Not just B2C.
