“Where do you get your ideas?”

How often do you contact your list? Every now and then? Once a month?

More often?

Take note of the little things in life to give you ideas for your business.

You know my feelings on this. I mean, I post my stuff every day, even if you don’t read it every day. One of the things I’m often asked is, where do I get my ideas? How do I come up with a story or an email every day?

My answer? Simple.

Not sexy.

Not “ninja”.

I pay attention to the world around me and I carry around a notebook in which I enter all my ideas. And I read a lot.

One of the most recent books I’ve read is Born Standing Up by Steve Martin, his autobiography. It’s brilliant. I’ve learned a bunch of stuff from that book, from reading about his work ethic and what success really requires…

But the thing I’m going to share with you today is this:

“I’ve always believed that there are funny people everywhere, but they’re just not comedians. In fact, some of my best comedic inspirations were not professional entertainers.”

That’s how I get my ideas. From everywhere.

Anyway, ideas are everything. Good ones, bad ones, mediocre ones… and my book, Business For Superheroes, is stuffed to the gullet with a bunch of ideas you can use to grow your business in 2017 – without needing the huge budgets big businesses rely on.

Vicky Fraser is a copywriter, author, and entrepreneur. She really did run away with the circus… but when she’s not swinging from a trapeze, she’s showing other copywriters and small business owners how to work with better clients, make more money, and stop missing bathtimes, first words, and dinners with angry partners. In fact, she wrote the book on it. Get your copy here.
