Have you seen the zombie hordes moaning “New Year New Me!” all over social media yet? We all know most of them are going to carry on doing the same old same old.
And hey, what’s wrong with the old me, anyway? I’m all for continuous improvement, but none of this “getting rid of everything I am and have done” bullshit. No, siree. Remember, when the majority are doing something (e.g. vowing “new year new me”) do the opposite. Or, at least think it through and use principles and strategies that’ll serve you in the long term, not tactics that’ll leave you with the flailing zombie hordes.
New Year resolutions are a crock, so instead start setting yourself SMART goals that you can achieve over three months.
Stay with me here…!
Most people set themselves New Year’s Resolutions along the lines of, “I’m going to be healthier”, “I’m going to lose weight”, or “I’m going to grow my business”.
Stop right there, those kinds of goals are way too vague and you’ll never stick to them.
Make them SMART:
You need a well-defined goal that you can realistically achieve within a specified time period, and that you can track to measure success. Simple eh?
Terrified by SMART goals? Have an idea of what you want to achieve in 2017 but don’t quite know how to reach it? Worry not, I can help!
Borrow My Brain for half an hour over Skype and I will help you set some clear, achievable goals for your business in 2017. Take some real action and I will help you achieve the stuff you want.
