Why you need to be a QUITTER

It’s the same. Every. Single. Year.

People are so full of shit (and I’ve been guilty of this myself): This year, it’ll be different”

Leaf covered stairs in a forest

Quit doing things that waste your time and start moving towards your goals.

“2017 is my year”

“I’ll achieve my goals this time”

“In 2017, I’ll make changes”

It’s the same year after year. I even see the same people saying this stuff every year.

There’s something about the new year that convinces people that somehow this time it’s going to be different…

But it won’t be.

It’s all crap.

Because these people continue doing the same stuff that got them where they were last year!

For a few years, I did that too.

I’d tell myself this year would be different, we’d get stuff done, save up money, buy a house…

And of course it never happened because we never did anything different. We just hoped that somehow magically making that resolution would be the key.

But of course it wasn’t, and the end of that year would approach with no change, too.

Business owners do the same. The same old stuff that they did in 2014, 2013, 2012… but they’re still hoping things will change. Things will get better.

They’re running on a treadmill getting nowhere.

And the crazy thing is — their version of changing is doing more of that stuff that hasn’t worked for them! Putting more work on an already full plate.

More work.

More books.

More networking.

More courses.

More hope.

Then they wonder why they’re so tired, yet not making any more moolah. “It’s not fair!” they think “I work so hard!”

Yep: nobody’s disputing that.

But what’s the use in working hard if that work isn’t profitable?

It sucks. (And don’t I know it — I’ve been there)

So, how about this, my friend?

Me and you: we make a pact.

Right now.

WE — that’s ME and THEE — commit ruthlessly to doing less.

We STOP doing shit that wastes our time and holds us back from getting what we want.

Ever heard someone trot out the old chestnut “winners never quit”?

That’s bunk

QUIT getting distracted by Facepants

QUIT getting involved in with clients we know are no good for us

QUIT hanging out with people who drag us down

QUIT worrying about what everyone else is doing

QUIT beating ourselves up when we’re not going as fast or as hard as we’d like

QUIT going on courses that don’t directly affect our income

QUIT comparing ourselves to people who don’t matter

QUIT believing people’s “I’m so successful” hype (mostly they’re not)

QUIT the mobile phone addiction

QUIT running after the latest shiny object because you hope this time it might work

Doesn’t that sound pretty fucking cool?

And the best part about it: it’s all about doing LESS.

(while concentrating on the stuff that will GET RESULTS)

Speaking of which…

Here’s a thing that’ll get you results: buy a copy of my book, Business For Superheroes, read it and take action.

So you can waste LESS time.

In fact, she wrote the book on it. Get your copy here.
