Sobbing into a giant gin and tonic

I’m sitting here sobbing right now. This was going to be an entirely different email, then I read a message from my friend Dom.

Glass of gin martini with a single green olive

There is nothing better than helping other small business owners succeed. Although gin comes pretty close!

Dom is one of my Superheroes and we met for the first time this week.

I’m sharing this because you need to know something really fucking important: You make a positive difference to people’s lives every day, without even realising it.

Here’s what the message said:

“Missed you this morning so see you in three months! Something I forgot to say to you in person was thankyou. Thanks for helping me with everything so far and for being a good friend already this week. Thanks for being you. Get them big girl pants on and kick some ass x”

You can see why I’m having an emotion right now, right? and it’s not just because last night I had a gin and tonic that was literally bigger than my entire head.

I started my Small Business Superheroes because I know how difficult it can be to run a business — and I also know it doesn’t have to be that much of a struggle.

My mentors and coaches have held my hand and kicked my arse and made me better.

It only seems fair and sensible that I pay that forward and help other business owners in my turn.

So I am. Because I want to.

I know my group is valuable… but I don’t always know it, you know?

We’re always being hit from all sides with the next thing we need to do to keep things afloat.

The next task.

The next call, the next sale, the next bill to pay.

And among all that, our brains throw moments of crippling self-doubt and fear at us.

We tell ourselves we’re not good enough, we’re not hardworking enough, we’re not enough.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you are enough. You just need a little helping hand.

Someone to help you tune out the distractions.

Someone to help you focus on your goal, and the strategy that’ll get you there.

Someone to show you the way.

I will help you quiet your doubts and get more of the right shit done.

Small Business Superheroes is waiting for you. I want you to join right now, because I hate the idea of you struggling when you don’t have to.
