Caution: this post contains wine.
And truth. A big old truth bomb.
Sitting on the sofa, having watched the latest episode of American Gods, and polishing off a bottle of Pinot Gris… Joe and I got to talking about people.
Specifically, the kind of people who draw you in.
Who lift you up.
Who have ideas.
Who encourage you to set the world on fire.
Even more specifically, MA BITCHES.
A small group of amazing women, most of whom don’t even know each other, but who would get on like a tsunami if (when) we all ever meet.
Misty, who is a fucking EPIC entrepreneur, mom, wine fiend, obesity survivor and warrior princess, and my Yorkshire-Canadian sista from another mista.
Annie, who is a fucking EPIC pole dancer, teacher, entrepreneur, and shining human being who welcomed me to a strange area in The Shire and made me part of her family.
Yinka, who is just all-round beautiful, strong, a fabulous mom to two ridiculously gorgeous little boys, and so much more awesome than she thinks she is.
Stefanie Bewbs, who I have a total girl-crush on because she is funny, smart, capable and just shines. And I have a feeling we’ll fill the world full of raucous laughter when we meet.
Molly, who’s a freakin’ horse acrobat and yoga entrepreneur who’s building a family of clients and travelling the world having an adventure. She says I’m her spirit animal. No, toots. You’re mine.
Kim, who’s an A-list copywriter in a man’s world — but she’s damn well gonna change that world, and lift the rest of us women writers up with her because she’s an amazing woman on a mission.
There are more great women in my world, too. And there are great men, of course.
But I talk about these women because these women are in my world, making me a better person, a better entrepreneur, a better business owner.
They make me believe I can do the things I want to do and they make me believe we’re all capable of building a better world.
And frankly, anyone who screeches with delight over the idea of superhero costumes and actual animals at a business training event is someone you need in your life.
One day, we’re all gonna get together in the same country and set the universe on fire.
Everyone needs a group of people who make them feel that way.
Everyone needs a group of dudes who lift them up.
Everyone needs someone who’ll help them hide the bodies.
Everyone needs someone who says FUCK YES! to goat yoga.
Here’s a good place to start…
Vicky Fraser is a copywriter, author, and entrepreneur. She really did run away with the circus… but when she’s not swinging from a trapeze, she’s showing other copywriters and small business owners how to work with better clients, make more money, and stop missing bathtimes, first words, and dinners with angry partners. In fact, she wrote the book on it. Get your copy here.
